People who hold public office should not be spiteful when they are communicating with others.
They should always be statesman like when they are addressing issues.
These were the comments of Chief Justice Anthony Gates during the AG’s Conference as he spoke about Public Accountability and the future plans to make official documents public.
Chief Justice Gates said the systems would also ensure that public officers are being held accountable for their actions.
He had also said that Fiji must move away from a system of relationship recruitment towards one of greater accountability.
Chief Justice Gates said it should be a system where every qualified person has a chance of being taken on or should meet the criteria and be considered equally.
