A total of 179 complaints on the services of the Fiji Police Force were received by the Prime Minister’s office while a total of 164 were received by police from all divisions around the country for January this year.
This was revealed by the Police Commissioner Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua who was addressing officers of senior positions from the 4 divisions at the Police Academy earlier this afternoon.
Naivalurua raised concerns on the issue of complaints on the services of the police force which was also highlighted by the Prime Minister on Monday as it questions the effectiveness, efficiency, integrity and commitment of the force.
He stressed that these complaints could be addressed by the leaders and some fail to carry out their responsibilities.
For the whole of last year, a total of 1372 complaints were received by the PM’s office while a total of 1290 was received by Police from all divisions in the country.
