The National Fire Authority has recently spent $177,000 to purchase new fire tunics.
CEO John O’Connor said this had become a necessity as their firefighters were sharing tunics which was unhygienic and posing great health risks.
NFA purchased more than 2000 fire tunics from Allesing Company in Australia.
All the firefighters in the Northern and Western Division will be issued their new fire tunics next week.
