A sum of close to $482,000 was handed over to the Ministry of Finance today from the Public Service Commission.
The money is generated from the lease of renovated Government Office Spaces and Government quarters which were lying idle for many years.
Permanent Secretary PSC, Parmesh Chand said that Government owned buildings have become self sustainable in generating revenue.
At the handover ceremony today, Permanent Secretary Finance, Filimoni Waqabaca acknowledged the positive returns which can be utilized for other purposes.
He urged PSC to continue to work on higher returns.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance had approved the establishment of a Trade and Manufacturing Account where revenue generated from rental quarters is kept in the account.
