A strong wind warning is still in force for the Lau Group as Cyclone Ian is now a category 3 system and is on course to hit Tonga by tomorrow.

Tropical Cyclone Ian has estimated winds of 65 knots with gusts of up to 90 knots.

Acting Director of Fiji Meteorological Service Aminiasi Tuidraki said that mariners should be more cautious as there are reports of rough seas in the Lau waters.
