To help those in rural and remote areas access government services, a new station will be built soon on Gau Island.
Divisional Commissioner Eastern Netani Rika said the Government station will cater as well for those in the nearby islands of the Lomaiviti Province.
Rika said the scope of work includes the construction of an office space and quarters to cater for officers that will be stationed on the island.
A sum of $738,000 has been set aside by Government for this project.
