Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said he wants to put the matter in relation to the allegations made by the former Manager Legal of FICAC Madhwa Tenakoon to rest.
Tenakoon alleged that there was political interference in FICAC and claims that some people with a political agenda were telling FICAC to pursue cases against certain people.
Sayed-Khaiyum said he has also found out that Tenakoon is now claiming that some people including Sayed-Khaiyum wanted Tenakoon to be removed from FICAC.
The Attorney General said the Sri Lankan counselor to Fiji, Ajith Kodagoda has also clarified certain claims made by Tenakoon.
Sayed-Khaiyum said what the ABC is trying to do is a storm in a tea cup.
Sayed-Khaiyum stressed that FICAC and the judiciary is independent.
Meanwhile Tenakoon has told the ABC that he has documentary evidence but has not said when this will be released.
