Fiji Airways has identified the reason why one of their flights B737-800 bound for Auckland from Nadi had to turn back yesterday morning.
Fumes and oil smell were reported in the cabin of the aircraft.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Stefan Pichler said their engineers have concluded their investigation and have also fixed the minor defect which was a failed check valve that allowed hydraulic oil into the air-conditioning system.
Pichler confirmed the aircraft landed safely and medical personnel were available at the Nadi Airport where one passenger was attended to by a doctor.
He added all passengers were accommodated and were flown out last night.
