The former Acting Permanent Secretary for Education and the Deputy Secretary Primary and Secondary Basundra Kumar’s request to withdraw her resignation has been accepted by the Acting Permanent Secretary Kelera Taloga.
This is to allow for necessary investigation to be carried out by Investigation Committee on the allegations made against her in a Ministry of Education report.
Kumar will remain on suspension pending investigation.
According to the Ministry, the committee will investigate the allegations and provide an opportunity to Kumar to provide her response.
The Ministry said the committee will make its findings on any breach by Kumar of the Public Service Code of Conduct or any other terms and conditions including her contract of employment.
The committee will make their recommendations to the Acting Permanent Secretary who will then decide on the next action.
