“Becoming a Christian State will not guarantee peace.”
This is part of the Christmas message from the outgoing Methodist Church President Reverend Tevita Nawadra while speaking to Fijivillage after the Christmas church service at the Centenary Church in Suva this morning.
Nawadra says that the Methodist Church stands for a mission and that is for Christians to show that they are Christians through how they live and not through claiming for a Christian state.
Nawadra has encouraged Christians not to be like Pharaoh who would punish people when his wish is not done, rather they must continue to show love even through difficult times.
Reverend Nawadra’s Christmas message is for people to learn from the endurance and suffering that Marry, the mother of Jesus endured and later gave birth to Jesus in an animal shed.
