Christmas this year brought great happiness for a 21‑year‑old law student as she has returned home after a long 12 years.
Ana Rubuti mostly spent her Christmas in middle east countries as her father works for the United Nations.
Rubuti says it feels good to be back home for Christmas.
Rubuti says Christmas was colder away from home and is enjoying the heat in Suva.
Rubuti and her family members took advantage of the bright sunny weather today and were down at the My Suva Park for their Christmas lunch.
We also caught up with the 25‑year‑old staff nurse, Krishneel who may be away from his family next year.
He took full advantage of the moment he had with his family today at My Suva Park.
Krishneel says his whole family may not be together next year and this is why they have come together this Christmas.
We also spoke to 24-year-old Filiti Mate at the My Suva Park who always used to celebrate Christmas at home.
This year the Mate family decided to get out of the house and celebrate Christmas at the park.
Mate says Christmas is all about spreading love.
Meanwhile, for 38‑year‑old Miriama Ravuso, this is the first Christmas where she is not with her 16‑year‑old‑son who is away in the islands to celebrate Christmas with his friends.
People from all walks of life were out in numbers at various picnic spots today and took great advantage of the good weather conditions.
