People living in different areas in Nadi and Lautoka will be affected by a planned water shutdown from the 3rd to the 6th of next month.
This is being done to carry out major repair works at the Nagado Treatment Plant.
The Water Authority of Fiji says the Lautoka City Centre and some outer boundaries of Lautoka who are supplied through Buabua and Saru Water Treatment Plant will not be affected.
It adds that the repair works include the replacement of defective control valve and another repair in the main transmission pipe to Nagado Water Treatment plant.
It has confirmed there will be no major disruptions to major service providers including hotels, hospitals, schools and businesses from Nadi to Lautoka.
100 water carting trucks will also be on standby.
It adds there will also be water tanks in strategic locations for people to go and fill their containers and gallons.
Water Authority of Fiji says it is also working with the Ministry of Education and the Hotel Association on the issue of water supply during the 4 day water disruption period.
