Orientation helps students become familiar with facilities and the resources available to enable them to be as productive as possible in the shortest possible time.

While speaking to students at the USP Orientation, Minister for Employment Jone Usamate today highlighted that the same concept applies in the workforce where new workers are briefed with the goal to achieve the highest level of productivity in the shortest time.

He also urged students to take responsibility for their learning from today and familiarize themselves with the school and how to use its resources to their advantage during the school year.

Usamate also encouraged students to learn to embrace the different cultures and the different ways of looking at things and use this to their own betterment academically and as an individual.

Meanwhile, USP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rajesh Chandra has highlighted that first-year students who have joined USP will help celebrate its 50th Anniversary this year.

He highlighted that the University has grown from enrolling 200 students in 1968 to having over 30,000 students to date adding that the University has exceeded its Strategic Plan targets by obtaining 26 international accreditations with hopefully a few more to come this year.
