Seventeen players have been contracted for the rest of the HSBC World Sevens series season and there are some spots still available for what Coach Gareth Baber calls new talent that is coming through local tournaments.
But the coach of the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team believes every player should earn the right to be given a contract.
There have been some changes to the Fiji 7s team to the Las Vegas 7s as wing and former Natabua sprinter Batinisavu Uluiyata left last night for Las Vegas replacing Alasio Naduva who is yet to get his US visa.
Speaking to us this afternoon, Naduva says he is yet to get his US visa but is confident that Baber has selected a good replacement in Uluiyata.
Fiji will play Russia in their first pool match of the Las Vegas 7s at 12.06pm this Saturday and we take on France at 3.07pm, Fiji then play their final pool match against Kenya at 8.36am Sunday.
The Cup quarters start at 1.26pm this Sunday, the Cup semis will be held at 9.12am next Monday while the Cup final will kick off at 12.30pm Monday.
