Chief Justice Anthony Gates says there are likely to be some new appointments of Judges and Magistrates in 2-3 months.
Fijivillage had asked Justice Gates if there are enough Judges and Magistrates in Fiji.
He says it is an ongoing process and unfortunately just when he thinks there are a contained number of Judges and Magistrates and the judiciary is big enough, then they suddenly find there are so many cases of rape and other cases filed in court, and they need more Judges and Magistrates.
Justice Gates says he cannot say where Fiji’s judiciary system will be in five years, but it is something that should be reviewed constantly.
