A heavy rain warning is now in place for the whole of Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says that the Tropical Low was located at about 780km west of Nadi as of 6am today.

A flood alert remains in force for low lying areas, small streams and areas adjacent to major rivers for Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and Taveuni.

Localised heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding of low-lying areas.

The Nadi Weather Office also says that a strong wind warning is now in force for the land areas of Northern Vanua Levu, Western and Northern Viti Levu that includes Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki and Tailevu, Yasawa, Mamanuca and Lomaiviti Group and nearby smaller islands.

Meanwhile, all roads in Rakiraki Town are currently closed to all to all traffic due to floodwaters.

The National Fire Authority has confirmed that the town area is closed off to all traffic.

Naqoro flats is also closed due to flood waters.
