The Methodist Church of Fiji is calling for a Culture of love this Easter.
Church President Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa says love takes action to shake up an intolerable situation, love looks beyond the present to the hope of what might be in the future.
Reverend Vakadewavosa also highlighted that Christ Jesus' self‑sacrifice, which we commemorate at Easter is a reminder that we are loved with an everlasting love by the everlasting God of the universe who has revealed Himself through the crucified Jesus.
He says at a time when our planet and society is in crisis, there is a need to love and care for one another and for our land and oceans.
Reverend Vakadewavosa says that as we mark the end of the Season of Lent and approach Easter, all Fijians need to reflect on the need for a culture of love in our society.
In his message he pointed out that in a society that practices a Culture of Love there is a need for us to be more patient in our interactions with others and in our expectations ‑ from something as simple as the early morning traffic in the Nausori ‑ Suva corridor to allowing the natural time for growth and maturity.
Reverend Vakadewavosa also stressed to Let our "Fiji Time" be not seen as laziness but as patience.
He says beyond the political and international work to address Climate Change, we are called to love and care for all which God has created.
