Expect more heavy rain from tomorrow and people are advised to stay vigilant as another weather system could develop near Vanuatu by this weekend.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure will bring heavy rain in the Northern Division from tomorrow onwards and this will later spread to other parts of the country.

The Weather Office stresses that people need to remain vigilant as weather systems are developing near the Fiji group and this could affect us.

A system may form near Vanuatu by this Saturday.

Meanwhile a flood alert remains in force for the low lying areas, small streams and areas adjacent to downstream of Dreketilailai to Qawa River, and for low lying areas, small streams and areas adjacent to the major rivers in Vanua Levu and Taveuni.

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti Group.

A heavy rain alert remains in force for the rest of Fiji.
