A 39-year-old mother appeared at the Nasinu Magistrates Court for allegedly assaulting her daughter with a kitchen knife.

The mother is charged with Act with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm and it is alleged that she struck her 19-year-old daughter with a kitchen knife last week Wednesday.

Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne has transferred the matter to the Suva High Court.

The mother has been remanded and the case has been adjourned to the 13th of this month.
