‘Winning is not everything’.

Attorney‑General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum said this yesterday while opening the Nadroga Mens & Mixed netball knock‑out tournament at Lawaqa Park.

Sayed-Khaiyum stated that sports are very much a part of the culture of the country which brings the people and communities together.

The tournament, played by clubs of the federation earmarks the beginning of the Club competition for the province.

Sayed-Khaiyum thanked the federation and the organisation for organising the tournament as not only internationally but at various levels such as province, district and community levels.

He also stated that sports plays a critical role in the fight against non-communicable diseases.

The Attorney-General highlighted that people should remember those that were affected by the floods and should try and help them.
