Around 120 Fijians living at Korovisina Settlement in Nadi will receive consistent supply of clean drinking water after the commissioning of the newly installed and extended water mains in the settlement.
For many years, residents in the area did not have access to proper drinking water.
Korovisina Resident, Luisa Vuninaidegei says some families have lived in the area for the last forty to fifty years and they have never had access to clean drinking water for their daily source of living.
Vuni-nai-degei adds that they have been using the river for drinking, bathing, cooking and washing purposes.
The Water Authority of Fiji undertook the project that provides better efficiency in delivering potable water to the twenty households of Korovisina costing $175,560.
