The woman who allegedly tied herself up with her 4-year-old daughter and drove their car off the road into Rewa River on Sunday night, has been charged with murder.
Fijivillage had earlier questioned Police whether the mother is under investigation for allegedly murdering her daughter and then attempting to commit suicide.
This is based on the Police report that the woman allegedly tied up her daughter before driving the car into the river.
The woman allegedly drove the car into the river in Kasavu after leaving their home in Vuci South.
Bystanders quickly got into the river to save the two.
The mother and daughter were taken to the Nausori hospital where the 4-year-old girl was pronounced dead.
The woman’s husband has alleged that she had called him while driving with their daughter saying that she will take both their lives.
The woman will appear in the Nausori Magistrates Court later today.
