Fiji Airways Flying Fijians and BLK Nadroga hooker Ratunaisa Navuma was praised by Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu for his bravery in attending to a report at Nayawa Village in Sigatoka before he was attacked.
Navuma was struck with a cane knife by a 25-year-old before the man surrendered himself at the Nadi Police Station.
The incident happened last Tuesday.
Navuma is back in training with the Nadroga team and is expected to play this weekend against Navosa.
He missed out on their 28-26 win over Suva last weekend.
ACP Tudravu says that they are proud of Navuma and thanked him for his commitment.
Tudravu along with the Divisional Police Commander West SSP Verani Nakauyaca and Force Chaplain Rev. Isireli Kacimaiwai visited Navuma on Tuesday at the Sigatoka Police Station.
Meanwhile Nadroga will take on Navosa at 3pm Saturday at Lawaqa Park.
In other matches, Rewa will host Malolo at 6pm tomorrow at Ratu Cakobau Park.
At 3pm Saturday, Naitasiri will take on Nadi at Ratu Cakobau Park while Suva will host Namosi at the ANZ Stadium.
