A man charged with aggravated burglary has applied for bail before High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar.
It is alleged that Richard Allen entered into the home of a 52 year old woman and stole assorted items to the total value of $1748 on 21st January this year at Laucala Beach.
State lawyer Saif Shah informed the court that Allen had five pending cases of assault in the magistrates court and has 17 previous convictions starting from 2004.
Shah further told the court that his previous convictions are of similar nature.
Justice Goundar highlighted and for two robbery convictions Allen got a concurrent sentence of four months and later in 2009 Allen got convicted of a series of nine burglary cases where he recieved a sentence of all together two years.
He stated that he was not sure why the Nasinu Magistrates Court was lenient to Allen as people usually get upto to four years for just robbery.
Justice Goundar further stated that it looks like Allen was not making any efforts to reform.
The bail ruling will be delivered on the 16th of this month.
