The villagers of Tavuya in Nabukelevu, Kadavu that have been evacuated from the coast will remain further inland as long as the heavy swell warning is in place.

This was confirmed by the village Headman, Epeli Cokanasiga who says that heavy swells swept through their homes last night but fortunately they were able to move everyone before it hit the village.

He says they experienced high waves and flood waters which entered three houses in the village.
