There is currently a freeze on the amendment of voter details in the Western Division to make sure that the information on a voter card is not being amended for the Homes-CARE initiative.
This has been confirmed by Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem.
Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum had said that some people have even gone to the Fijian Elections Office and changed their address to an area affected by the floods.
Saneem has also confirmed today that 636,764 voters have been registered as of 30th May 2018 to vote in the 2018 elections.
This is compared to 591,101 registered voters in the 2014 elections.
The Supervisors of Elections, Mohammed Saneem, stated that the number of women that have registered for this elections is 315,085 which has increased compared to the last elections.
The number of people between the ages of 18 to 40 that have registered to vote is 329,165.
The Supervisor also added that they are working together with the Department of registry to confirm the number of all registered persons that have passed away.
The registration of those in overseas countries will end in the last two weeks of this month.
