The Fiji Handball team is on the right track to lift their performance to a whole new level.

With just two months of training, the national handball side managed to achieve an unexpected result in the Under 18 grade and  finished fourth while the Under 20 finished fifth in the Oceania Handball Championship this month.

Fiji Handball Assistant Coach, Mitieli Savu says this is one sport that former Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan had said that Fiji could win a gold medal in.

Tour Manager, Alex Konrote says that the Officials were amazed at the amount of skills the players showed in their games.

He added that they are very proud of their achievements and expects that the players will grow and that the game of handball will become another big sport in Fiji.

Handball Fiji hopes to gradually introduce this sport into the school system in the coming years.
