The Fiji Nursing Association is hoping to have a special budget for specialised nursing groups in the various fields of nursing as all the nursing posts have just been advertised.
Fiji Nursing Association's General Secretary, Salanieta Matiavi says they are hoping to get a budget for the re-engagement of retirees especially the specialised nurses like midwives with the new facilities being constructed.
Matiavi also highlighted that nurses make up 60% to 70% of the workforce in the Ministry of Health and they should be allocated a training budget on their own to cater for training at divisional health facilities.
Meanwhile nurses received a salary increment of up to 14.3% while nurse practitioners received up to 74% increment in the current budget.
