A 69-year-old woman has died after a motor vehicle accident yesterday while three others are admitted at the Savusavu Hospital.
The woman who is from Buca died while being rushed to the Labasa Hospital after the vehicle she was traveling in veered off the road near the Waisali Hill in Lomaloma, Vanua Levu.
The vehicle was being driven by the deceased’s 37-year-old son who was accompanied by his 35-year-old wife and their 8 months old daughter.
The family was traveling from Savusavu heading towards Bua to spend the weekend when the man allegedly lost control of the vehicle at a bend on a hill, causing it to veer off to the right side of the road before hitting a rock which caused the vehicle to tumble upside down.
The road death toll currently stands at 31 which is the same compared to last year.
