Highlanders coach Aaron Mauger is confident his side will hit back this week as it heads to Christchurch for a tough match against defending champions, Crusaders.
Mauger says the players were shattered with their performance against the Chiefs last Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Crusaders are coming off their bye and will be fit and raring to go.
The Crusaders have suffered a double injury blow as Jone Macilai and Billy Harmon will miss the rest of the Super rugby season after sustaining injuries in the Crusaders’ match against the French Barbarians on June 15th.
Macilai sustained a fractured leg which required a surgical procedure while Harmon sustained a knee injury which required an operation.
On Friday, eight time champions, the Crusaders will host the Highlanders at 7.35pm while the Reds will host the Rebels at 9.45pm.
The Chiefs will host the Brumbies at 5.15pm this Saturday, the Hurricanes will face the Blues at 7.35pm while the Waratahs will host the Sunwolves at 9.45pm.
On Sunday, the Bulls will take on the Jaguares at 1.05am while the Stormers will take on the Sharks at 3.15am.
