A man accused of aggravated robbery attacked two police officers in a Suva High Court room this morning in front of High Court Judge Justice Chamath Morais.
Fijivillage witnessed the incident in court this morning.
The accused, Demesi Atulaga was refusing to leave the courtroom after being ordered by police officers to do so.
When police officers removed him from where he was sitting, Atulaga retaliated and threw punches at the two police officers.
He was then apprehended and taken to the holding cell at the Suva Court house.
Atulaga and two others were in court today for a case where he is alleged to have robbed a man of cash and assorted items to the total value of $4,050 on the 17th of April in Samabula.
In 2016, Atulaga was also charged for stoning a Police vehicle and assaulted Detective Sergeant Josua Daveta, by throwing a stone at him.
In that same case, he also assaulted Special Constable Saimone Ratu by biting his right index finger.
