The election of the Fiji Taxi’s Association is now underway with postal voting beginning yesterday and will conclude on the 31st of July.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohamed Saneem says that the Fiji Taxi Association currently has 276 members with a total of 3 candidates contesting the position of President, 4 candidates contesting the Vice-President position while 2 are contesting for the secretary position.
Those that are contesting for the Presidency are Harish Chandra, Azim Khan and Raven Bhan Singh.
Membership into the Fiji Taxi Association is through application and registrations were conducted this year from the 29th of February to the 28th of March by the Registrar of Industrial Association and Fiji Taxi Association.
Saneem adds that there was a request made for the Fijian Elections Office to conduct the elections.
