The 25-year-old man who tried to forcefully enter the Delainavesi Police Community Post armed with a cane knife will front the Suva Magistrates Court in the next hour.

The accused has been charged with one count of damaging property, act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and resisting arrest.

The man was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident.

The situation was contained as a number of officers arrived in emergency vehicles and motorbikes.

Police confirm that the Delainavesi Community Post sustained extensive damage and  no one was injured.
