350 delegates from around the world will be attending the two day Climate Action Pacific Partnership Conference at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva from today.

This includes leaders from various Pacific Island Countries as well as representatives from Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

While Speaking at the Workshop on Strengthening Media Capacity on Climate Change Reporting in the Pacific Islands, COP23 Executive Director John Connor says that the Conference will focus on the challenges that Pacific Countries are facing as a result of climate change and they will be making submissions ahead of COP24 which will be held in Poland.

He adds that cross cutting issues such as Gender, Youths, issues of loss and damage and other issues that have not been handled properly in regards to Climate Change in the Pacific will also be part of the discussion.

Connor also confirmed that the success of the Talanoa Session which was introduced at the COP23 will again be part of the COP24 in Poland later this year.
