Police have confirmed that investigators are compiling all necessary documents and reports in relation to the alleged murder of a 50‑year‑old man in Rakiraki on the 7th of this month before the file will be forwarded to the Divisional Crime Officer for the next course of action.
Three men have been questioned and released in relation to their alleged involvement in the case.
Police earlier highlighted that four men allegedly assaulted the 50‑year old in Ellington in Rakiraki along the Kings Road and the four men who were believed to be drunk at the time of the incident stopped the vehicle driven by the deceased, pulled the victim out and assaulted him.
As a result the man fell and got injured.
He was taken to the Rakiraki hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police say the victim was on his way to the village with his 10‑year‑old son.
