The Ba soccer team has won the 2018 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants title after beating Suva 2-0 in extra time.
Both teams were locked nil all at full time.
Abbu Zahid scored the first goal for Ba in the second half of extra time before Samuela Nabenia sealed the win for the Men in Black with another goal.
Zahid scored his goal through a header after a brilliant cross from substitute Kini Madigi.
Ba’s other substitute, Simione Nabenu set up the second goal for Nabenia.
Nabenia says this win was a team effort.
Ba captain, Malakai Tiwa says they now aim to continue this winning run.
This is Ba’s 17th BOG title win and their first win since 2013.
This was also a memorable moment for Ba soccer president Rishi Kumar as this was his 40th title with Ba.
Overall Ba has won 90 titles in their history.
Ba will receive $15,000 as prize money.
Each Ba player is expected to receive $2000 each as Kumar will top up the prize money received.
Abbu Zahid was awarded the best player of the tournament.
