Police say that they will forward the file of the alleged murder case of a 50‑year‑old man in Rakiraki to the DPP’s Office for sanctioning.
Three men were earlier questioned and released in relation to their alleged involvement in the case.
Four men who were believed to be drunk at the time of the incident stopped the vehicle driven by the deceased, pulled him out and assaulted him.
As a result the man fell and got injured.
He was taken to the Rakiraki hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police say the victim was on his way to the village with his 10‑year‑old son.
