The Fiji Football Association has commenced an investigation to establish whether the match fixing allegations against Labasa and Tavua in the Inkk Mobile BOG are true.
Fiji FA has received some complaints regarding this matter.
Labasa thumped Tavua 5-0 in their last group match just over a week ago and qualified to the semifinals as they had a better goal difference in comparison to Lautoka and Ba.
On the same day and in the last group match, Lautoka defeated Ba 2-0 however the Blues did not have sufficient goal difference to take them through to the semis.
Fiji FA’s CEO Mohammed Yusuf says a committee has been formed and players and officials of Tavua and officials of Labasa will be interviewed.
He says the Fiji FA does not condone match fixing and severe action can be taken if found guilty.
Yusuf says they will follow a process and if there is substance after the interviews, then they will forward the matter to their Ethics Committee.
