Former Fijian residents have been reminded that their contribution can move the country forward.
While officiating at the 2018 Fiji Australia New Zealand Canada America Muslim Soccer Tournament at Churchill Park, Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development, Inia Seruiratu acknowledged the continued involvement of former Fiji residents in the country’s progress.
Seruiratu says Fiji has come a long way, from a period of racial and religious division to an era where the country is now “One Nation, One Fiji”.
He says many had left Fiji years back, but some keep coming back and sports has been one of the driving engines bringing them back.
Seruiratu adds that these former citizens may consider returning to Fiji and can now even become a dual citizen of Fiji.
He says sports teaches us to live for each other, to be unselfish, it builds teamwork and heightens the level of respect and fair play.
