The United Blind Persons of Fiji has received a cheque of $5,000 from the Fiji National University as part of its sponsorship towards the upcoming Disability Gala Awards Nite that will be held in October.
FNU Vice Chancellor Professor Nigel Healey presented the cheque to Rajnel Prasad, the Chair of the Awards ceremony.
Healey said the University was honoured to partner with United Blind Persons of Fiji, given the important role it plays to empower those with visual impairment as well as its contribution towards national development.
The event aims to recognise the contributions and achievements of students with special needs will be held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on Saturday 27 October.
