A 30-year-old farmer who allegedly caused the death of a 30-year-old man in Nakasi last Friday has been remanded in custody by the Nasinu Magistrates Court.
Ratu Semi Kabakaba Degei of Waila Nausori has been charged with manslaughter, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and drinking and driving.
The accident occurred at around 7am at the junction of Vavalagi Road when the accused who is alleged to have been driving under the influence of alcohol hit the victim who was walking with a 26-year-old co worker.
The case has been transferred to the Suva High Court which will be called next Thursday.
