The 29-year-old man who was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the finding of the remains of 25-year-old Sonika Singh has been charged and produced in the Nadi Magistrates Court in the last hour.

Moneel Narayan is the husband of the victim.

The accused is charged with one count of murder and will be produced in the Lautoka High Court on the 17th of next month.

Moneel Narayan has been further remanded in custody.

The remains of Singh’s body was discovered in an unused well in Malamala, Nadi last weekend.

DNA tests confirmed that the remains were of 25-year-old Sonika Singh. 

Singh who is a mother of two had left for work on the morning of the 11th and had failed to return.

She was then reported missing to Police.

Fijivillage has been informed by a close family member that Singh and her two daughters were residing with her parents as she had some disputes with her husband.

The remains were discovered at a distance from the accused’s home in Malamala, Nadi.
