Good news for young people who have just started or are looking to start their own business as TOTAL Fiji Limited has launched their Startupper of the Year Challenge.

While launching that competition at the TOTAL Customer Week at Holiday Inn, Vice President Commercial Sales Epi Tulele says that the competition is open to those aged between 18‑35 years with an idea for a business or if they are looking to grow their business that is less than two years old, regardless of business sector.

Tulele says that the winning projects will be awarded the "Startupper of 2019 by Total" and will receive both financial assistance and coaching from Total.

Total Fiji Managing Director Kazi Rahman says that TOTAL wants to be part of the solution to youth unemployment in Fiji adding that it fosters innovative ideas and helps an entrepreneurial and very promising young generation.

Rahman adds that they thought they needed to create momentum that lays the groundwork for some great success stories.

Rahman also highlighted that there will be three winners with the first winner to gain financial support of up to $30,000 the second winner will be awarded $20,000 and the third winner will be awarded $15,000.  

Applications can be submitted via the website startupper.total.com from 9th of next month to 13th November and the winners will be announced in February next year.
