The use of plastic and its effects on the environment is something that the Savusavu Carnival Committee hopes to create awareness on in the different communities of Savusavu Town.
This was highlighted by the Savusavu Carnival Committee Vice Chairperson, Manoj Lal who adds that they want to continue with the work they have begun to do around the Savusavu community now that the carnival is into its third year.
Lal says that after the Savusavu carnival was revived in 2016 after 32 years, the carnival committee has assisted with the upgrading of the children’s park, renovations to the Savusavu hospital and the installation of a two face digital clock in Savusavu Town.
He says that 5 contestants will be vying for this year’s Miss Savusavu Crown.
The Vodafone Hidden Paradise Savusavu Carnival will be held from the 27th of this month to the 5th of next month.
The winner of the Hidden Paradise Savusavu Carnival will represent Savusavu at the Miss Fiji Pageant next month in Nasinu.
