Habitat for Humanity has set out on their goal to collect 1000 emergency kits for the upcoming cyclone season.
This has been kick started following the donation of 300 emergency kits from Snowy Mountain Engineering Cooperation.
Habitat for Humanity Fiji Director, Masi Latianara says these kits will help keep people in a temporary shelter in the instance their homes are affected during a natural disaster.
Latianara says that they had also received kits from Vision World, Start Network and other charity organizations and NGO’s.
He says that this drive will take up to 2 months to get emergency kits ready as the cyclone season officially begins on the 1st of next month until the 30th of April, next year.
