Senior citizens around the country will from today enjoy the government subsidised bus-fare.
This has been revealed by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa following the launch of the Fiji Senior Citizens Week at the Holiday Inn in Suva this morning.
Vuniwaqa says that the government will provide $40 top-up every month to all senior citizens e-ticketing cards.
This has come at the time when the senior citizens are being acknowledged for their contribution to the success of the nation.
The Senior citizens subsidised bus-fare is applicable to those at the age of 60 years and above.
