The Fiji Airways Drua preparations have been boosted with $550,000 as an expression of gratitude and appreciation from the government and the Fiji National Sports Commission ahead of their round 6 NRC clash.

$300,000 is to help the Drua in terms of preparation and participation while $250,000 is for the hosting of four home matches including their game against the Canberra Vikings this weekend.

Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive Officer John O’Connor says that the support from government and the Fiji Sports Commission could not be more appreciated as the Drua head towards round six of the 2018 NRC.

O’Connor who was in Canberra last year and witnessed the Fiji Drua’s 66-5 loss to the Canberra Vikings says that the Drua will be out to avenge their loss when they take on the Vikings on Saturday.

FRU is encouraging Drua fans to come in numbers and show their support as the Fiji Drua have worked hard to be consistent in this year’s NRC.

The Drua will face Canberra Vikings at 3pm Saturday at Churchill Park.
