The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team will face USA in the Cup Quarterfinals of the Dubai 7s after defeating Kenya 43‑12 in their final pool match this morning.

Sevuloni Mocenacagi scored the first try 20 seconds into the game after breaking through Kenya’s defence while captain Kalione Nasoko scored in the second minute adding another 5 pointer for Fiji.
In the fourth minute, Amenoni Nasilasila crossed the try line to score a converted try giving Fiji a 17-nil lead while Kenya managed to put points on the board with a try just before half time.
Fiji led Kenya 17‑7 at halftime with Coach Gareth Baber advising the team to focus on the kickoffs.
Fiji started the second half with a try to Jerry Tuwai in the first minute adding to Fiji’s 24‑7 lead.
Nasoko crossed over for his second try in the match in the third minute of the second half.
Debutant Apenisa Cakaubalavu crossed the try line in the fourth minute to score his first try of series adding to Fiji’s 36‑7 lead while Vatemo Ravouvou scored Fiji’s last try in the sixth minute.
Kenya scored the final try in the match.
The final score was Fiji 43 and Kenya 12.
Fiji beat France 39-nil in their first pool match and edged Scotland 21-19.
Looking at some other results from Day One of the Dubai 7s, Spain beat Wales 35-7 this morning and Scotland and France drew 14-all while Argentina upset South Africa 17-12.
In the Cup quarterfinals, South Africa will meet England at 8 tonight, New Zealand will take on Scotland at 8.22 tonight, Australia will face Argentina at 8.44 tonight while Fiji will face off against USA in the last Cup quarterfinal at 9.06 tonight.
The Cup semifinals kick off at 1.17am tomorrow.
The Cup final will start at 4.29am tomorrow.
