The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team has finished in 11th place at the Dubai 7s.

They beat Kenya 17-5 in the 11th place playoff.

The Fiji Women’s National 7s team lost to China 12-10 in the Challenge Trophy semifinals.

In the pool stages, the Fiji 7s team lost their two opening pool matches in the Dubai 7s and but managed to pull through with a victory in their last pool game.

In their first pool match against Canada, the Fijiana 7s team lost 38‑7 and also got hammered 29‑15 once again in their second pool match against France.

The Fiji Women’s National 7s team managed to get a 17‑5 win against Spain.

Meanwhile, Tyla Nathan‑Wong scored two tries and added three conversions as New Zealand claimed the women's title at the Dubai Sevens.

Nathan‑Wong scored a vital try after the first‑half siren to give New Zealand the lead, then another match‑clinching try in the 12th minute, capitalising on a yellow card for a high tackle by Canada's Bianca Farella, to win a tough final 26‑14.

Other New Zealand tries came from Theresa Fitzpatrick and Gayle Broughton.

Canada’s tries came from Ghislaine Landry and Julia Greenshields.

The final victory made in two‑for‑two for New Zealand in the 2018‑19 Women's World Series, after their triumph in the US in October.
