A man who swam to a vessel with the intention to allegedly steal money was quickly apprehended by a security guard yesterday morning.
Police say that the suspect allegedly swam to the vessel berthed at the Millers Wharf, climbed onboard and stole a $100 note and coins amounting to almost $10 from inside its office.
Police have confirmed that the incident occurred at around 8.30am and he was quickly apprehended by the shipping company's security guard whereby officers based at the Millers Wharf were called to the scene of the crime.
He remains in custody as investigations continue.
